Ignore correction at your own peril

Cain didn't handle correction well and It led to his downfall. Sin was crouching at his door and he had no defense against it because of his disobedience. Rather than fixing his first misstep by following God's directions, he chose to kill his perceived competition out of jealousy and pride. He paid for his actions the rest of his life.

The reaction of Cain and his subsequent punishment portrays a valuable lesson for every human being. Before lashing out at someone else for doing well and "making one look bad", take a look inward and compare your own actions to God's Word. Humble obedience to God's Word is always the correct response.
