That Day

That Day

That day was the day you dragged yourself through the church’s door. Either you were invited and came just to please or you heard about it and thought it to be the last door you’d knock for help.
That day was the day something inside you changed. You thought it was a simple ‘hope’ that was born, but when you look back today, you know it was much more than just hope. It was faith.
That day was the day you first used your faith, and though you didn’t see much difference with your eyes, you certainly felt it inside. You started to see things in a different way, you started to look forward, and you started to finally understand what life was all about.
That day was the day you opened your eyes, though you were still full of problems, inside and outside. You were so small you thought you didn’t deserve to call on Jesus. But something in you had the nerve, and the more you called out to Him, the more you got closer to Him.
That day a small seed was sown in you. So small, the human eye could not have seen it. And with time, that seed grew, little by little, to the point of changing so many things in you that when you look back, you feel as though your past was a story you heard a long time ago.
Today is the day you look back on that day and realize it was the best choice you have ever made in life.
Today you’re different because of that day.
Today you help others based on what happened to you that day.
Today you’re here, ready for tomorrow, ready for more.
‘To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what parable shall we picture it? It is like a mustard seed which, when it is sown on the ground, is smaller than all the seeds on earth; but when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all the herbs, and shoots out large branches, so that the birds of the air may next under its shade.’ Mark 4:30
