Battle
Battle
All men dream of charging forward to rescue…to save…to conquer a great adversary. Created in the image of God, all men have the desire for adventure hard-wired into their souls. We are compelled to pull the sword from the sheath, to lead a legion of warriors onto the battlefield and engage the enemy with reckless abandon.
Then why, if we are born with this desire, do so many of us retreat? Who do so many men consciously decide not to engage, settling for just walking back and forth behind enemy lines, waiting for somebody else to pick up the sword? You can almost hear those men screaming out, “Give me the sword! Let me feel the grip of courage as I wrap my hands around this symbol of strength and call out…’Follow me!’ I am ready to be called a good and faithful servant!” But they never act on their desire for adventure. They just wish they could.
What paralyzes men? What is the fear that holds them back from climbing inside their God-given armor? To identify the paralyzing force you must locate the source, and the source is ."The enemy who attacks us all."
Hidden and disguised in your mind as your own real identity, effectively stealing your manhood. That’s why Jesus called him the “thief” of joy. Revelation 12 v. 9 identifies our enemy, “This great dragon-the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world-was thrown down to the earth with all his angels.”
Enemy identified! Our mission? To eliminate his control on your soul and mind! The great dragon wants to keep you in your seat. He feeds your fear of stepping up…stepping out…and unleashing your divine glory God has intended for you. How many missions have been put in front of you and you turned your head the other way feeling all the while like you have been punched in the gut.
That is the enemy’s stronghold. He first controls your decision, the first cut to the soul. He then begins to shred you with his blade of lies, with your feelings of guilt and shame because you did not accept your mission. Your soul screaming out, “Seize this moment for our King!” But the dragon holds you hostage in his tower of pain and self-hatred.
Men, we must recognize and acknowledge the source of our hesitation to do what God has created us to do. And then grab our sword for the Lord and charge the dragon. It’s not you, not your wife, not your job, not your kids -- it’s the dragon. Satan himself is the one holding you back from your life of victory. Our general has the ultimate battle plan for Him.
Men, rise up and claim your anointing over the enemy thru the eternal power of Jesus Christ. The only way to remove the enemy’s blade of lies from our heart, soul, and mind is thru the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Surround yourself with like-minded warriors and move from the back of the line to the front! Men can no longer run and hide in this battle of kingdoms. It is inescapable, but loyalty to Christ is our guiding light of victory! Sound the battle stations!
