Wisdom of the listeners

Job 33:33 NLT

33 But if not, then listen to me. Keep silent and I will teach you wisdom!"

Job was hearing God respond to comment after comment that Job and His friends had been making. Job was in a real situation. His friends were convincing him to admit to the sin they were sure he had committed. His wife wanted him to denounce faith in God, and his children were dead. Job had lost it all.

Job had said plenty thus far, but he did his fair share of listening. But here in chapter three, he gets to listen to God. Wisdom and understanding are on the way for Job.

Like Job, i listen to people close to me and i do my share of talking. But its when i listen for Gods voice that i truly find pure wisdom. I am thankful for a God who is available to converse with. I cant blame Job or his friends ...i think out loud all the time. I realize though, i need to listen to God speak. His voice matters most.

Father, help me look past my situations and get alone with you so you can speak as I listen. Lord may your voice be the greatest craving in my heart. AMEN.
