The Right Woman

Out of all of David's wives, Abigail is the only one that we get to know on a deeper level, and clearly was chosen because of her character. The account says nothing about her outward beauty, but her wisdom, faith, respect, and meekness are obvious. God honored her for her character and delivered her from what was probably an arranged, loveless marriage to an unbelieving foolish man.

Her story gives hope for any married woman who is in a similar situation. God takes care of his own one way or another. Don't let your circumstances embitter you and take you away from God. Be faithful as Abigail for God has promised to change the heart of your husband (I Peter 3).

And for those of you who are looking for a good husband, concentrate on building Godly character because a true man of God will take notice. And for all those young men out there looking for the "Right Woman" be sure to look deeper than just the flesh. Otherwise you may end up with a Michal or Jezebel.
