Serving is an Honor
So often we want to hear the words: "Well done my good and faithful servant." What happens when we don't hear those words of affirmation? Did we do something wrong? Does God not appreciate what we have done?
Jesus answer this question by a simple illustration. A servant doesn't expect to hear thanks every time they simply do their job. Christ reminds us that we are called to serve. We get to serve our savior, and that should be enough. As Christ followers we shouldn't need a "great job" or " way to go" every time we do something for the Kingdom. Doing His will is expected. Everyday we should end as Christ tells his disciples - "We are unworthy servant, we have only done what was our duty." May we be satisfied with our duty!
