Some weird analogies
Ok the followers of john the baptist and the Pharisees were not anorexic. They would go without food for a day in order to focus on prayer and their time with God. The only reason to do this was to focus on God. They didn't do this to lose weight. Well some people wanted to know why Jesus' followers didn't do this. The whole purpose of fasting was to be able to better focus on God. Well since Jesus was God there wasn't any real need to fast.
Then Jesus uses some weird clothing description and talks about wine. What Jesus is saying is that you don't use old stuff to do new things. Jesus is telling people that there is a new way of living and that some of the old things aren't going to be the same anymore. That there is a new life in Jesus.
