Connections

One reason I love the reading plans that have you read a little from different books, is because it gives you an opportunity to see the connected lines of Scripture.

In Genesis 12, God tells Abram to leave his country and in turn all the peoples of the earth would be blessed. In Matthew 5, Jesus tells his followers that they have a responsibility for the world. They are to be as salt and light for all the peoples of the earth. Just as people read of Sarah and Abraham having Isaac in their old age and praise God for keeping His promise, so people are to see the actions of the followers of Christ and be similarly drawn to praise God.
