Something Worth Praying For
Scripture - 1 One more thing, friends: Pray for us. Pray that the Master’s Word will simply take off and race through the country to a groundswell of response, just as it did among you.
Observation - Paul many times said that he was praying for those he knew in the churches. In the opening chapters of his letter to the Philippians and Colossians he tells them that he is praying for them. He had a heart for those that he knew in the Lord. But just as Paul prayed for others, he also asked them to be praying for him. Most of the times his prayer request was that he would have the strength and ability to preach the word and spread the message of Christ.
Application - One thing I think leaders miss is realizing that we need to ask people to pray for us, especially in the work of spreading the gospel. I know that I need your prayers to make me a better preacher and minister. Please pray for me that I can speak the word of truth in such a way that lives are impacted and changed. Please pray for the other ministers at South Side that they may excel in their ministries.
Prayer - Lord, help me to be a better minister of your gospel.
