God Relates To Me

God relates to me! He is not the mysterious "man upstairs", He is not the "energy force of the universe", and He is not a mythological figure that I use as a crutch to get me through my life experiences. He is my Father, Creator, Redeemer, and my Friend. God knows what it is like to be me. So if no one else understands me He understands me. Rejection, pain, suffering, loneliness, frustration, and temptation are just a few of the things that we have in common. This passage in Hebrews 2:9-18 shows the depth of God's love for us. In order to save His creation, He had to become like His created. I don't believe that we really grasp this fact. My prayer is that God would continue to open our eyes so that we may fully understand the person and work of Jesus Christ.
