I love Jesus' boldness!!!
I don't think you are missing anything. My outlook on this is that I gave the world all I had and every opportunity to guide, teach, fix, explain and encourage me in every avenue in my life. It could never fulfill my desires. Then came Jesus!!! My life would "NEVER" be the same. As long as I remain willing and believe in him he will guide, teach, correct and do everything possible that will turn me into the person he wants me to be. Sugar coating things is a set up for disaster for me. I want and need the truth. It does set you free.
