Stick with the plan

While reading John 4 - Jesus Talks to a Woman at the Well - this morning, I noticed that Jesus's trip through Samaria occurred because he left Judea when the Pharisees heard he was baptizing a lot of people. The notes in my Bible explain that Jesus left Judea because it wasn't time yet to confront the Pharisees. He had a plan. He was focused. And because of that, he had his famous exchange with the woman at the well. I'm thinking more and more that a fruitful life comes through sticking to God's plan. It might have been exciting to confront the Pharisees. It might have been dramatic. It might have brought glory to God. But it wasn't his plan. God, help me to know and stick to your plan.
