Interesting to read the Beatitudes today because I heard them being read and discussed on the radio today as well. It serves as a reminder that we are truly blessed when we humble ourselves before God and place the needs of others first.

It also took me back to my Bible quizzing days when I learning these.....I still remember some of the references by the crazy things I associated with them; like blessed are those who hunger and thirst (Matthew 5:6)--remember it is verse 6 because that is the time people eat dinner (ie hunger), or blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God (Matthew 5:8)--remember it is verse 8 because an 8 looks like sideways glasses and you need glasses to see. Corny I know, but that's how I remember them. :-)
