Come from amongst them

In 2 Corinthians 6:14 a couple of things stood out to me that came in the form of questions. Well, first I had to ask God why it is that Paul would instruct the Corinthians in such a manner that seemingly causes them to be separate from those in the world? Second, I had to ask how does what Paul said here apply to believers today? Okay...this is what God revealed to me: #1 The mindset of the believer and the unbeliever is totally different. While the believer will want to do things by the Spirit of God, the unbeliever's thought pattern and actions will be more along the lines of one who thinks and lives by his flesh(feelings, emotions, opinions of others, etc.), which will provide two totally very different outcomes and cause the two to always be going in two separate directions. So, in a nutshell, the unbeliever will always think and reason in his flesh, while the believer will think and reason according to the Spirit of God; which in and of itself will cause division. Also, something else to think about is the danger of the mindset and stance of the believer changing from that of the Spirit to that of the flesh and risking the works of the flesh manifesting in that believers life versus that of the Spirit of God. Galatians 5:19-23 makes plain the works of the flesh versus the works of the Spirit. So, it's important as believers to take heed to what is being said in this passage of scripture so that we don't find ourselves walking outside of the influence of God. Just like every other scripture that provides instruction, this scripture is designed for our protection. God gave insight to Paul to provide this warning and it should not be ignored.   We cannot afford to be more concerned with the opinions of man that we disobey the commands of God.  As believers these commands are not optional; we do not get to pick and choose what we are going to obey.  We must choose to be apart of the minority who obey God regardless of what the majority chooses to do.
