everyday worries

in order to understand the passage we must understand the cultural context. Jesus said "do not be concerned about what to eat or drink" In Jesus's culture the main issue was poverty, hunger, homelessness, ect. So He saying a "radical" message for His time.

So many of us have smartphones or computers since we are able to see the notes. so i assume most of us don't struggle with poverty. so how can we apply what Jesus said to our lives? What are the things that really consume our everyday thoughts?
for me it would be things like having enough money for transportation, maintaining relationships, and making sure people like me.
