Self-righteousness?

One of the biggest factors in who I choose to hang out with is whether or not they are hypocritical. And more to the point self-righteous, whether in judging others or tooting their own horn.

Here, Jesus reminds us that God sees! And not just what is visible, but much deeper, into the recesses of our hearts and into the "why" of our actions.

I must confess that one of the reasons this is such a stickler for me is that before Jesus captured my heart, I WAS a hypocrit, and early in my walk, a self-righteous, legalistic twit.

Today, I praise God for this particular word specifically because it was instrumental in my growing out of "me" and more into Him.
