thief or shepherd?
It is interesting that Jesus says He came to give life and give it to the full, but the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. If your life is not "full" (obviously what that means is a whole other topic for discussion), who are you giving lordship and preference to in your life? Satan longs to steal from you and destroy your heart (take your joy), he longs to kill your spirit and crush you under self introspection and insecurity, he longs to destroy your worth and holiness. His role to play is the perpetrator of carnage in the spiritual realm.
It is beyond me why, as followers of Jesus, we treat the enemy as a fairy tale when Jesus treated him like, well, an enemy...
God longs to heal those deep broken places long forgotten by everyone else - let Him do it and rebuke the evil one for trying to steal your right to full life that our king has bestowed upon us...
