How to Witness
You know, so many times you hear of people going out into the world to "witness" to the world about the need to repent and turn from their wicked ways. The problem is that often times the way that is done, is with words that are judgmental and condemning. Telling people how horrible they are and how full of sin they are, trying to convince them that they need Jesus because they are sinners, who are without hope of eternal life. And while all of that may be true, I think Deuteronomy 32:1-3 gives us a great way to "witness" and yet do it in a way that is honoring of God. Let your words fall like a gentle rain, arrive like morning dew, like a sprinkling rain on new grass, like spring showers on the garden. Because ultimately it is God's name we are preaching and asking people to respond to the greatness of God. Doesn't it make sense to do it with gentleness?
