"How Much More"
I have several thoughts on your comment. Yes – God is much more good than we are, but I think that this comparison helps us to see how much God loves us, because if we are parents, we understand how much we love our children, and how much we would do for them. God love us infinitely more than we could ever love our children, so His gifts to us are infinitely better than a parent’s gifts could be. As for asking God for stuff – stuff we need – the Bible tells us that He already knows our needs and He meets every need. The asking is part of the relationship that we have with Him. Also, God knows what is best for us, and what we think we need is not necessarily what we need, but again, God knows what is best for us – just as parents know what is best for their children, and even though a child may ask for something that they think they need, the good parent might not give it to them because they really don’t need it. And God will give us what we ask for as long as we asking according to His will – just like we as parents will give our children what they ask for as long as we agree with their request.
