To maintain balance:
1. Know where you are,
2. Constantly make minor corrections,
3. Have a clear objective.
Difference between physical balance & spiritual:
1. Physical have immediate consequences, spiritual/financial do not,
2. Finances are not fair.

The more money u have, the easier it is to be out of balance.

To Xs:
1. U can't be a Jesus follower & have your finances out of balance. (the bible talks more abt finances more than heaven & hell.)
2. One reason non-Xs doubt your faith is because you're imbalanced.
To non-Xs:
1. Every major world religion talks abt personal finances. So no matter what u believe, this is important.

Mt 5 -
Lk 16.13 - u cannot serve both God and money. The tension is not between god & the devil... Who's gonna be master? God or my stuff?

Jesus never asks for money. He doesn't need your money; he doesn't want u to need your money. He doesn't want to have your money; he just doesn't want your money to have u. As long as money & stuff are lord of our life, we will be out of balance.

The proper reference point is to know where our money's going. (#1 above)
