Where we leave our abundance
This is interesting to me because I was thinking recently about how in most families, children become the focus of the family. This goes so far as to cause separation between the parents. Husband and Wife drift apart because of the importance that is placed on the children (activities, their friends, school, etc.). I find it interesting that in this passage, the psalmist names people whose portion is their own lives instead of God, that they are most satisfied with their children and leave all their wealth (which is everything) to them. I think it is always important to remember that even when you have kids, I am sure it seems like your life is supposed to revolve around them, but it does not. Christ is still where we should place the up most importance/priority in our lives. I say this because we will always be looking for the next thing that will make us happy, change our lives somehow, etc...and to some that is having kids.
