The verses of Matthew 9:9-13 (The Calling of Matthew) asks us to learn about the message “I desire mercy, not sacrifice”. Jesus told us it is more important to show mercy to those who are sinners and have different viewpoints, rather than to highlight our personal sacrifice and impose judgment on how people live their life’s. Do not place judgment for we are all sinners. We should not condemn, criticize, or complain.

As Disciples of Christ perform actions of service, compassion, and kindness. Live with mercy, frugality, and humility.
