What kind of promises are these?!
Promise 1- I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. Warning- beware of men! Promise 2- they will deliver you to the courts and beat the brakes off of you. Promise 3- you will be dragged before governors and kings 'for his sake.' Why? To bear witness before them and the Gentiles. The Lord doesn't promise escape but he does grant power to proclaim. "do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour."
