Which one are you?

The parable of the seeds is a well known passage. I've read it and heard it a thousand times and every time I read it thinking I am the person planting the seeds. I thought of myself as a believer who could go and spread the word and then once the seed was planted, any of these things could happen. And, sometimes, I am the person who plants a seed. However, recently I read this and thought to myself, "When I first heard the story of Jesus, which seed was I?" Even to this day I see myself as the person who received the word of God quickly and with joy. I grew up in church and being a Christian has always just been a given. I've learned lately that if you don't have roots, you won't survive the tough times. For me, roots are a lot of things. It's time with people who believe what you do, it's time spent reading and studying God's word, it's praying, it's going to church. Things like these are what feed our spiritual hunger, they are our roots. Without them in our lives, we will have nothing to keep us up when the storm comes and we will quickly fall away.
