Proverbs1:6
For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Reflection- This is saying that you can learn from God's word. He only speaks the truth and makes things understood.
Proverbs4:1
Listen, my sons, to a father's instruction; pay attention and gain understanding.
Reflection- I have actually learned from this. I pay more attention in class and I started doing better on assignments. When you pay full attention, you will learn much easier.
Proverbs10:4
Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.
Reflection-The harder you work, the more successful you will be. If you are lazy, you will have less and not be successful.
Proverbs12:1
Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.
Reflection- This is saying that if you arent corrected, you won't learn. If you are corrected, you will learn from it and become smarter with each correction.
Proverbs13:20
Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.
Reflection- If you are around people who are smarter, you will learn and pick up from their knowlege. If you are around people who arent smart, you will not learn any more than you know.
Proverbs14:30
A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.
Reflection- Being jealous will tear you down. Having envy means that you would rather be someone else than yourself, and the true you is fading away. A heart at peace with no envy brings life to you and the true you is all there.
Proverbs18:10
The name of the lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
Reflection- Those who listen and follow God's word are safe from evil. God's word is like a tower, a shelter protecting you from evil.
Proverbs20:9
Who can say, "I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin"?
Reflection- The answer to this is "No one, but God." Everyone has sinned at some point in their lives, except God. Only He is perfect.
Proverbs23:12
Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge.
Reflection- If you do this, you will learn from what you hear and do what is right according to your heart.
Proverbs27:5
Better is open rebuke than hidden love.
Reflection- It is better to let others know that you disagree so a change can be made than to hide your love so no one knows.
