Year of Opportunity

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

I believe that this year (2009) is a year of great opportunity. I believe that we as believers have a great opportunity to reach a tremendous amount of people for Christ.

With all that is going on in the economy, one thing I keep hearing and that’s “Panic.” Many will come looking for answers, many will come looking for direction and many will come because of fear. It is time for us (the believers) to stand strong in our faith, knowing that the Almighty is with us.

Joshua was “commanded” to be strong and of good courage. The Jewish nation about to enter into their promise had great opportunity to be discouraged. Looking back to times past and seeing what has happened before, could have brought great distress to them. But it took someone (Joshua) who believed and trusted in God to lead them.

I believe this year many of us as believers are going to have the greatest opportunity lead many to Christ, not only as converts but as Disciples of Christ.
