thanks comes 1st!

Enter his gates with thanksgiving

and his courts with praise;

give thanks to him and praise his name. (Psalm 100:4 NIV84)

Usually when we come to someone, we come with a request 1st and a thanks later… yet we are told to come before God with thanks 1st!

Thanks gives us entrance and praise takes us before God!

The opposite would stand true too… a spirit of negativity and thanklessness keeps us on the outside with God!
(isn't this why the Desert Israelites cudnt enter the promised land?!) [see Hebrews 3]
This spirit is considered a hard heart that sin has corrupted!
