God uses us in unusual ways. taught to show how salvation works.
saving people is God's work. sharing is ours.
1) salvation is orchestrated by God.
verse 26
god tells Philip to preach where noone was.
he thought it didn't make sense.
verse 27: someone was in the desert. set up by God. he had come to worship. he was reading the Bible (Isaiah 53).
god brought them together so that ONE man could be saved!!!!
He puts people in our life for us to know Him. this is the only way we can become believers and be saved.
2) salvation is executed by man.
verse 26-27
Philip didn't ask questions, he just went.
verse 29-30: now Philip is being bold about the Gospel. taking a risk.
God could have used different methods but wanted one believer to share his story to another. He wants us to share with one another.
gospel living must be linked to Gospel speaking
we are our church's evangelical program!!!!
3) salvation is based on the Word.
verse 25; 32
the passage the man is reading points directly to Jesus on the cross.
verse 35
luke 24:27
philip didn't try to win the man to Jesus by entertaining him or trying to win him over with bribes. he just used the Bible and explained to the man what he was reading.
verse 39
