3rd Time's a Charm
Isaac's servants dug a well (v.19), but that well led to problems (v.20). They dug a second well (v. 21), which also created strife (enmity). Finally (v.22), Isaac dug a well "and they did not quarrel over it."
I'm not sure what the difference was between the first 2 wells and the third one -- does it have anything to do with the fact that the text says that the servants dug the first two, while Isaac himself dug the third? Whatever the case may be, these verses show me that we should not get discouraged when our efforts do not succeed on our first, second, etc. attempts. God *is* faithful, and just as He ultimately blessed the works of Isaac's hands, He *will* ultimately bless ours.
