3 aspects of temptation

Sin always looks good, we think it will taste good, and that we will gain wisdom from it.

1 John 2:16 (NLT)
For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.

Sin happens when we do what we think is best for ourselves instead of being obedient to God. What we think will make us wise and is good for us, and God already knows it will eventually separate us from Him, lead to shame, and eventually death.

Adam and Eve's problem is/was that they got close enough to the tree to see and touch it. If we want to avoid sin and temptation in our lives, the best thing to do is stay far enough away so we are not tempted.
