homeless Mary and Joseph?
So they travel to Bethlehem as part of the census and the text says while they were there the time came for Mary to give birth. But they have the baby in a stable and lay Him in a manger b/c there is no room for them in the inn. So where were they staying during this census? How long had they been in Bethlehem before Jesus was born? Were they homeless? perhaps knew of this spot prior? That's why the gifts of the wise men were such a blessing as it provided subsidy during the early years of Christ's life.
