The curse of Sin

The result of the disobedience was a curse... I am very thankful, that Jesus died on the cross to set us free from sin and the curse of sin. But in order to live free from the curse it is important to understand what the curse is. Concerning the second half of this passage it can easily be misunderstood. A better translation (as someone also written) would be that the woman desires to control the man or desires for the man's position. And he will rule over the woman.
For the woman this means that she is still living under the curse of sin if she is fighting with (her) man about the position or tries to rule over him.
For the man: he is living under the curse if he is ruling (in a sense of controlling) over the woman. And even tough man is set as head of the family it was not meant to "rule" over the woman. The example of the man's role is given by Jesus and the Church.
Maybe it helps to understand the meaning of this passage if it is compared with Genesis 4.7 where the exact same words are used. It talks about Sin "desires" Cain (want to control him) but he should "rule" over it.
However as mentioned above through Jesus we are set free from the curse and do not have to live any longer in a "cursed way".
