Nicodemus playing coy
When Jesus says born again a Jewish leader would have got exactly what he was saying. It was the custom to be baptized and when coming up they would be considered to be re-born or born again. They would do this in many of their cleansing ceremonies. That Nicodemus acted like he was confused by the comment reflects to me a lot of the things that happen in my life, the way I know what God is telling me but I "pretend" to not understand or say I need to pray about it more first.
