Exempt?
He was alive until the law came into his life. This, to me, is why many Christians believe in the "age of accountability." We are all born "bent" toward sin, but until we are aware of what sin is, we are exempt - or alive. That's why I am certain of where my daughter is. Babies have no ability to accept Christ. They are not even aware of their sin. God sees them as they are - innocent. Hence also the Scriptures where Jesus tells the disciples to let the children come because "such is made the Kingdom of heaven", and also when it states that unless we become like a child, we cannot enter the Kingdom of heaven. I remember my child-like faith. Believing and trusting implicitly. But most of us will live, grow and mature. We must become aware of our imperfections. We must realize our need for a Saviour. We are incapable of perfection which is required to enter into the Kingdom of heaven. And then, fully aware and dead, we are washed clean by the blood of Jesus and live again!
