Is God enough?

This story is completely irrational to me on a logical level. Abraham was truly faithful to God. I can’t imagine the psychological battle taking place on the inside of Abraham let alone Issac. Abraham had a realization of God’s provision because of His obedience. One thing I struggle with though is the rigid formula that could possibly be interpreted out of this very personal and relational story. Are we inspired to obey God because He is provider or because He is God? Does obedience equal provision in my eyes? In the chapter before this one a very similar situation (the outcome anyways) takes place with Hagar and Ishmael. They are sent out to the dessert outside of their own will and eventually run out of the necessary provisions to survive in that environment. They cry out for help, God hears them and provides. They also like Abraham had a realization that God provides. Paul explains the allegory of Issac and Ishmael in his letter to the Galatians and clearly delineates between the two sons, one born of the flesh that was cast out representing a yoke of slavery to the law the other born of the Spirit representing those who would find freedom from the law in Christ. God seeing this distinction still provides for both out of relationship with Abraham. According to Matthew God provides for both the evil and the good the unrighteous and the righteous. God is worthy to be worshiped not just as provider but as God. He is just and good!!!!! I want God to be my satisfaction and motivation to obey Him.
