Principals for Prevailing
Nehemiah 4: 6-14, 15-23
V. 14: They had become accustomed to living with dysfunction
1) Keep moving forward and remember the value of persistence and small victories
- life is lived one day at a time. Brick by brick
- Give us THIS day, our daily bread. A lifetime is built around days. Jesus was clear and precise on how to live well and love people
- Means actually pushing past emotions of the moment.
2) Make adjustments and strategic compromises
- we can get attacked at any moment, so it's less efficient by we need to tradeoff in order to carry a weapon while building
- we don't HAVE to do it, but wisdom says to do it. So let's deal with this, take the hassle, go the extra mile. Security is better than then vulnerability we're facing.
3) Commit to work, but stay alert
- Matthew 26:41 says to know your weakness. Learn to understand yourself in Him and allow others to speak into that.
4) Work hard because breakthrough has a price
- we're going to have to contend to pour our heart into breakthrough
- because the Lord wants our faith to have FIBER and deep roots that will not be moved. He wants to make us to bring forth much fruit.
