- Hebrews 13:5 (MSG)
Distorted view - Sometimes our relationship with our earthly father distorts out view of Jesus as an everlasting father. One distortion may be that we can never do enough to satisfy Him. Another, He is always angry--abuse, molestation, drunken. Last distortion, He is never there. Some fathers abandon their children or are always at work. These distortions do not describe Jesus.
Scriptural view - Psalm 103:8: compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. There is nothing we can do to earn His love. He is oozing and dripping with love. Luke 15:20 the prodigal son story is a great example of Jesus as an Everlasting Father. Jesus is one who cares about us. Jeremiah 29:11 He cares. Jesus is always there. Doesn't matter if you never go to church again, read the Bible again, ray again. You can never escape Him. Psalm 139:1-4,7,11-12. Hebrews 13:5.He will never leave you; He will never... NEVER... forsake you.
