Isn't this statement alone, "the Gospel"?
When we typically talk about the Gospel, we talk about Jesus' death for our sins, and His resurrection, etc.
But right here, at the beginning of His ministry, isn't He clearly saying what indeed the Gospel ("Good News") is? It is simply that the Kingdom has come near to us, is "at hand", and that we should turn from our current ways, and re-turn to God.
It seems to me that adding anything else to this, and saying that it's The Gospel, is an error?
Someone tell me where I'm going wrong with this line of thinking, because it seems so simple and obvious to me...
