I love the word correction versus punishment when it comes to God's discipline. Many Christians look at God as vengeful, just waiting to hit us over the head if we mess up. But God acts like a father, or at least how a father is supposed to act. His discipline is for our own good, it is for correction. It is to help steer us in the right direction. The direction that is right for us. He acts out of lovingkindness, not vengeance. There is no condemnation in Christ.
