my guess
obviously, these guys weren't idiots who immediately decided to blindly follow someone they had never met. My guess is this: they found him interesting enough to immediately go to, to find out more.
Then the relationship started, and they stayed. What they heard and saw was good... what Jesus said to them was good. They stayed for more... and ended up never looking back.
I can learn from that - they had an on-going, 2-way relationship with Jesus... in any relationship, that 2-way thing is what keeps you coming back for more.
