Prayer
Why not pray first?
The account is clear. Luke is the one gospel writer that mentions prayer more than the other three (Matthew, Mark, and John).
His Gospel starts with the prayer of the priests.
Luke is the only one who mentions that Jesus was praying at his baptism.
The book of Acts starts with the disciples together in prayer.
And the kicker is - Luke was a doctor!
Why not pray AND use medicine:
the word aleipho(ἀλειφο) (anoint) in Mark 6:13 and James 5:14, where the word is used of the application of oil for medicinal purposes. Thus we find in the latter text, the two God-appointed resources in the case of illness, prayer and medical help
