The farmer slept
This parable seems to really emphasize the joint effort we play with God in order to see our lives continually conformed into His image…..bearing fruit. A farmer sows the seed (Am I consistently hearing and striving to allow the Word to dictate all areas of my life) but has absolutely nothing to do with the growth that takes place according to this parable. The soil, in and of it’s self produces the crop when the farmer is resting…he likes to take naps like Jesus. The farmer get’s no credit for the growth and likewise God should get all the credit for the growth in our life, not us. Help me to increase in resting in the Word that is sown into my heart.
