The fullness of his grace
A lot of the time I don't read between the lines. John 1:16-18 is a great example of this for me. So often I read the "greatest hits" verses in the Bible (like John 1:14a) and completely miss the following nuggets of truth! Read all of John 1:1-18 and it's amazing to see the emphasis on the grace and truth that is revealed through Jesus.
The weight of the "fullness" of God's grace revealed through Jesus is perhaps the greatest truth I skip over in this passage. I am amazed by the fact that 'from the fullness of Jesus' grace we I receive one blessing after another.' It only deepens my awe of Jesus: The embodiment of Grace and the revelation of the unseen God.
