Who was Jesus?

1. How did his life begin?
- born in a way so he could identify with the meek, humble, and poor. (Phil. 2:7-8)
- he came as a human so he could IDENTIFY with us.
- God became man so he could communicate with real people

2. How is Jesus like us?
- he was born like us
- he grew like us (Luke 2:52)
- his temptations were such that he could identify with our every day struggles (Hebrews 4:14-15)

His ministry was to meet the needs of regular people (Matt. 2:15-17)

He came to show us the way to life (John 14:6)
- Jesus was and is the only one to show people how to get to God

The Way
- the way to happiness, peace, joy, and eternal life
- he takes you where you need to go, he doesn't just give directions
The Truth
- God shows us what he is truly like through the life of Jesus (John 8:32)
The Life
- he shows us how to have life and have it more abundantly
- nothing in human life can give us the fruits of the spirit

He came to show us how to have a relationship with God
- he defeated death, hell, and sin for us
