Handling The Dangling Thread
Years ago I was at a men's store ready to buy one of my first expensive suits. I tried on one that had a thread dangling. I gingerly tried to move it when the salesman came over and ripped it off. He then said, "our suits can handle the dangling thread!" I think this is one of the lessons God wants to teach us through this blind man. We have tragedies enter our lives that seem irreparable. We can't explain them or worst still, we can't solve them.
Our first instinct is to cry out, "who sinned here!" Or perhaps we wonder, "Am I still being punished for something I have confessed?" What this blind man shows us is that many of our most difficult circumstances in life are nothing more than opportunities. God is ready to display His miracles and His glory in a way that brings the light of Jesus Christ to the world.
So when my life seems to be coming apart at the seams, I need to remember that I have a God who has absolutely no problem repairing the irreparable. When it comes to my life, My God can handle the dangling thread!
