-God wants us to enjoy life! Look at the Garden and what He gave us. What's the point? Pleasure! Joy!
-God wanted to be the center of all that joy
-Using guilt, shame & manipulation to be more "holy" than another Christian is wrong & not Scriptural.
-Joy becomes elusive when the main thing (Jesus) is pushed to the side.
-The King's reign is about righteousness, peace & joy. TWO THIRDS of those are states of mind (peace & joy).
-The King's reign is all about making people as righteous as the King.
-The devil can't take your joy, you just made secondary, non-essential issues primary--this is what stole your joy.
-Peace & joy are gifts from the Lord
-What you do is secondary to who you are. --Don't live your life focused on what happened or thinking about your future, what is primarily important is who you are.
-Only Jesus can ensure that joy is not reduced to a circumstantial emotion.
