A willingness to be seen
Our culture is a private one. Yes, we've all got a gazillion friends on Facebook and we tweet about every last detail of our days and diets, but at the end of day, we keep the most incriminating stuff to ourselves and pray that no one ever really knows who we are.
But this verse is plain: if we love Christ, there is a willingness to step into the light so that what is unseen can be seen. This isn't a grand jury investigation by the Holy Spirit. It is the redeemed heart saying this is who I am; please, redeem it all. And He does!
