"Up to the present hour we are both hungry and thirsty; we are poorly clothed, roughly treated, homeless; we labor, working with our own hands. When we are reviled, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it; when we are slandered, we respond graciously. Even now, we are like the world's garbage, like the dirt everyone scrapes off their [sandals]." (1 Corinthians 4:11-13 HCSB)

Again my thoughts drift to a football player who is ridiculed by some for what he says. I also sense such sentiments from some other sad members of my squadron.

But what great reward we have to look forward to! Jesus called us blessed!!! Matt 5:11 -"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me."

Oh, how I wish more Believers would embrace this. As Caedmon Call's old song says: "this world has nothing for me and this world has every thing; all that I could long for but nothing that I NEED!" and Jeremy Camp re-did an old favorite: "You can have all this world... Just give me Jesus!"
