True confidence, joy and peace

When you trust God deeply, you will (sooner or later) experience these three blessings:

Verse 6: "Many, Lord, are asking, Who will show us any good"? Lift up the light of your face upon us, O Lord.

Many people feel insecure facing the future. They are unhappy with the current situation and doubt that the future will be any better.

But David, trusting God (V.4) knows his Lord - the light of His face gives him confidence. He knows how mighty and glorious God is and so he knows himself safe in his arms, whatever the future will bring.

Verse 7: You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound.

God gives us a joy that surpasses the earthly, temporary joys found in wine, parties etc. This joy comes deep from the heart (V.6) and thus does not depend on circumstances.

Verse 8: In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Being a child of God gives you a peace that will let you sleep easily. He cares for you and you don't have to worry about tomorrow. Keep in mind that David was attacked frequently, but God's peace helped him through.

So many people are rushing through this uncertain world, feeling insecure and always craving for true joy, going from one party to another. As a Christian, we know the source of true confidence, joy and peace. If you live satisfied in Jesus, you can share these wonderful blessings found in God.
