Clean Me Up!
I love this scripture. I once done a demonstration in church to go along with this. I had a pitcher of water. The pitcher represents our lives. The water is the things we do in our lives without sin and without Christ. I had a teaspoon of red food coloring. This represents the sins that we have in our life. Once we put that sin in, our life becomes infected with sin. Not one single inch of water in this pitcher is pure. Not one single spot is without color. Satan has a hold on us! But wait, the Bible says he will remove that sin and will wash us clean. Let's say a prayer of forgiveness. After the prayer have a cup of bleach. This represents Christ. Once you put Christ in your life your stains are gone! Your sin has been forgiven. Once you pour that bleach in, the water is now clear again! God has removed all that sin that was in your life! You have a new beginning!
It's always reassuring to know that no matter what I have done in my life, how horrible it is or how horrible people think I am because of it, that Jesus has forgiven me and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. By the Grace of God, I AM SAVED! My sins have been forgiven and I am no longer bound! Sin used to have a hold on me but no more! I have given that up to the Lord and I have been forgiven! My heart has been cleansed and is white as snow! Thank you Jesus for making me a child of your's.
